3~The terrifying encounter

Ragini's stomach gurgled out of hunger. It's past 7 PM and he has not shown up since then. Her food is placed on the bed, untouched. She gulped looking at it. Her body is asking for food but she has decided not to eat a single rice and drink water in his house.

She looks around this huge room which screams nothing but royalty. The decorations are beautiful. Every single piece reflected royalty and richness. The room is well designed and cleaned.

She sighed,

The bigger the room, the more she is feeling stuffed. There is no way out of this room. This feels like nothing but hell to her.

She wants to go.

She needs to find a way for that.

She tried getting down from bed but just then someone came into the room. Her breath hitched as she thought it was him but she was wrong, it was a maid this time.

" You did not eat your food, mam?"

The maid asked.

Ragini blinked her eyes and glanced at another plate of food in her hands. The maid walked forward and put the plate on the bed.

" Please have it, mam. Kunwar-sa ordered us strictly that the plate should be empty."

Ragini stood up.

" Help me."

The maid thinned her eyebrows and felt her heart clenching as she saw her glossy eyes.

" Please help me. I need to go back. My family is waiting for me. At.. At Least give me your mobile so that I can contact them. Please, I beg you."

The maid felt bad for her. Ragini felt disappointed when the maid looked down.

" I..I won't tell him anything, I promise. Just help me please."

Ragini tried her best to make her understand but everything went in vain. The maid left the room and didn't forget to lock the door. Ragini sighed heavily.

" Kya karu ab main?"

( What should I do?)

She looked around the room. She walked to the window and looked down. It would be useless thinking about jumping from here. There are so many guards outside. They will catch her in no second.

Her eyes caught the sight of a big photo on the wall. It was a sword that looked royal. The painting is covering almost the whole part of the wall. She walked toward it and stared at her for some good seconds.

" Can it be a secret door?"

She tried moving the painting but it was heavy and didn't move even an inch. She sighed at herself. That was stupid to think.

She turned around and leaned her back against that painting.

" I want to go back- Oh!"

She gasped when she heard a weird sound. She stepped back and looked at the painting.

Her eyes widened and mouth hung open when the painting split into two parts.

" A door?"

She uttered shockingly seeing the painting or door open slightly. She gulped and opened the door more.

She walked forward only to come across to another room. This is the second part of the room in which she was staying. She felt scared by this new discovery yet a ray of hope entered into her heart.

She saw a door in this room. She straight ran to that direction and tried opening it.

Wide smile appeared on her lips as the door opened. She did not wait for a second and hurriedly came out.

She looked to the left then right. She is standing in some corridor. There are two more doors opposite to her. That must be the way to another room. Ignoring it, she instantly hid behind the pillar as she saw a lady passing by the corridor.o t

She took a deep breath and thought to go to the left side. There were stairs and she chose to climb down it down as it was the only way from here.

She kept looking back and made sure not to make any noise.

Her eyebrows thinned in confusion when she reached a big hall and there were 5 doors, all leading to one room.

It feels like a maze. Why do I feel like instead of getting out of the trap, I am getting trapped further in it.

She thought and proceeded to walk.

She heard a weird noise from a particular room. Being curious, she walked to the direction and touched the door to open it.

Her eyes came out of socket and disgust rushed down her spine as she saw a couple literally eating each other. They are making out. Man tear the girl's clothes-

She shut the door and shook her head.

" The heck!"

She uttered and checked the other 4 rooms but they were medium sized and normal.

She sighed and sat on the couch which was placed in the middle of the hall.

" I am not able to find a way out."

She muttered and literally rolled her eyes when she heard a girl moaning louder from the room.

She thought to leave from here and find another way but her heartbeat stopped for a fraction of second when she heard footsteps approaching her.

She stayed in her place and fisted her dress. Her body felt too weak to move. She gulped when she felt him behind her. She did not dare to look at him as if she has lost her strength. Like, he has snatched her ability to do or think anything.

Shiver ran down to her spine when he leaned his mouth closer to her ear.

" Are you lost, Angel?"

Her fists tightened and she could feel her nail digging her palm from cloth. He chuckled humorously then came in front of her. She kept her gaze down to the floor, afraid by his presence.

Her body shivered in fear and he could see it clearly. She leaned her body back when he put his hands on head rest behind, on either side of her.

She felt his face so close to her. His mouth was so close to her forehead as he whispered.

" Kaisi lagi hamari Haveli?"

( How did you like my mansion?)

She looked up at his face hurriedly with furrowed eyebrows. Corner of his lip curved into a handsome smirk.

He stood straight.

" Socha ki itni dair se kamre mein bor ho rahi hongi aap, to darwaze khule chorr diye aapke liye."

( I thought you must be getting bored in the room so I unlocked the doors for you.)

She blinked her eyes.

" Kyu kar rahe hain aap aisa? Jaane dijiye hume."

( Why are you doing this? Let me go.)

Her tone reflected anger, defeat and much more. She was having mixed feelings.

He grabbed her fisted hand and opened her tight fist before rubbing her palm softly. She took her hand back harshly. He passed her impressed look.

Nobody has the audacity to behave like this to him except her.

" You know the answer."

He gave the same reply. She sighed frustratedly and gritted her teeth. He is sure she must be thinking about ways to kill him right now, right here.

" Let's go to your room-"

" I won't go."

She replied stubbornly. The very next second they heard the scream of a woman from the room. Vidyut chuckled.

" So you are planning to listen to their moans now?"

She did not say anything. He has never tolerated stubborn behaviour of someone but again, she is an exception.

" Whatever! I will sit here or you let me go."

A minute later they heard the door opening sound. Ragini did not pay attention to look there. Vidyut looks at the man coming out of the room. He is buckling his belt and wearing a black vest on upper body. His appearance was the same as Vidyut, but a bit more dangerous.

" Done with your shit?"

Vidyut asked with a pissed off expression. His younger brother, Rudraksh Jaisingh smirked and clicked his tongue.

" Yeah-"

He looked at Ragini and thinned his eyebrows.

" Are you-"

" Shut your mouth."

Vidyut did not let his brother continue further. Rudraksh looked at Ragini who finally chose to look at him. He seems the same age as her but looks equally heartless like Vidyut.

" Who are you, My highness?"

He asked sweetly which was obviously fake. Ragini glared at him, clenched her jaw.

" Oh!

Rudraksh looks at Vidyut for explanation.

" Is she an enemy or something?"

Vidyut shook his head no.

" Your highness, do you want to stay here or are you going to your room?"

Rudraksh asked Ragini extravagantly. Ragini rolled her eyes then stood up to leave, realising her 1st try of escaping failed.

" You are not going to talk to her like that."

Vidyut ordered his brother before leaving as well.

⋆⋅✧⋅⋆

Ragini sighed heavily. She is feeling so restless and useless that she is not able to find a way out of his hell-like cage. He intentionally unlocked the door, knowing she wouldn't be able to escape. He was just using her.

He can at least let me talk to my parents. They must be going insane while finding me. What should I do? - Ragini thought.

She is feeling like breaking all the things here. He can be seen everywhere. It's like, every item in this room is mocking her. He is mocking her, keeping her locked in a room like this.

She heard a key clicking sound. She got alarmed, her expression stiffened knowing the person out of the room. Her hand fisted and eyes filled up in anger.

She blinked her eyes and unfisted her hand when she found someone else. It was the same maid who brought food for her in evening.

" You did not have your food, mam?"

The maid asked and Ragini just looked away from her face. The maid sighed and replaced the fresh food with old and cold one then left. Ragini walked toward the door and locked it before sighing softly.

" Why am I locking it? when anyone can come without permission."

She muttered bitterly and looked up to the ceiling.

Meanwhile,

Vidyut took his seat opposite to his cousin brother- Kartik Jaisingh. In this meeting room, all the other men of the family are present.

" Where is Rudra?"

Ratan asked and just then, they all heard-

" I am here."

He said while entering the room.

" So..."

Ajay Jaisingh parted his mouth to speak. The topic was related to Raisinghani's- their enemy.

" It would be useless planning anything against them right now."

Vidyut spoke.

" Why?"

Kartik questioned.

" Because..."

Vidyut leaned his back on the chair then continued.

" He is back and trust me, he must be dying to destroy me."

Vidyut smirked while uttering the above sentence.

" What did you do?"

Ratan asked.

Vidyut exhaled heavily then shrugged his shoulders, not wanting to tell them anything yet.

" They ruined one of our warehouses. If we do not take action, they will take over our position. We need to make them feel our fear again."

Ratan uttered with a pissed off expression.

" But Vidyut is right, bhai-sa.."

Ajay took Vidyut's side.

" No. We need to talk to them in their language. I believe that woman is asking them to-"

" Careful Mr. Jaisingh."

Vidyut interrupted his father with a stern look on face. Ajay sensed that if he did not step in the conversation then the next world war would start between this father-son duo.

" Calm down, Vidyut."

Ajay said. Vidyut clicked his tongue, passed a glare at his father who was looking unaffected then stood up and walked away from there.

Ajay sighed.

" You need to stop pulling her in every conversation, bhai-sa. Vidyut does not like to hear a word against her."

" Whatever."

Ratan said after Ajay. Rudraksh and Kartik stare at the way their elder brother went.

Vidyut stares at his mother- Kamini Jaisingh or we can say, step mother. She has called her friends and is having great fun with them in the living room. She noticed him and smiled sweetly which he found anything but sweet..

Before Kamini could call him to her, he went to a nearby room and shut the door.

Honestly, his life is twisted. His life has turned so dark that a single ray of light cannot help it. He has drowned himself into the deep ocean of the underworld where he commits only sin by taking the life of humans. His life is so fucked up that one can not even imagine.

He has got many different names- devil, monster, madman, murderer etc. and used to all this. He has made himself like a stone which no one can break except....her.

His Angel.

The tears which never worked on his stoned heart, her tears melted his heart. Her pleadings made him feel many emotions which he never experienced before.

She has affected him badly. He wants to free her but at the same time, he cannot let her go anywhere away from him. Affection, obsession, attraction or anything- he just wants her.

In this fake world, he finds her so true and genuine from others. She has angel wings, which he has cut unfortunately.

" Agar humne unhe jaane diya to..."

( If I let her go..)

Vidyut blinked his eyes and looked at a photo frame of a lady hanging on the wall.

" Kho denge hum unhe jaise inhe kho diya.."

( I will lose her like her.)

Vidyut uttered in low tone.

" Unki nafrat mein jeena seekh lenge par unhe apne se door nahi hone denge."

( I will learn to live in her hatred but won't ever free her.)

Vidyut's tone depicted determination. His gaze captured her beauty and he decided to capture that beauty in his arms so that nobody else could look at her.

He has right over her love.

He has every right over her hate.

He has every ounce of right over her time, curse, blessings and memories.

She collided with his world and journey with him is never easy.

.

.

.

Ragini bit the inside of her lower lip and slowly unlocked her door. She was surprised to find it unlocked from outside. She came out of the room without making any noise.

It's around 11 PM and she thought to check her luck once again. This time she chose a different way.

She blinked her eyes and looked either side of her. The haveli has turned almost dark with few lamps lit. She walked to the right side and reached the nearby stairs.

Nobody could be seen anywhere. She climbed down the stairs.

Vidyut, who caught her sight as soon as he came out of the room, raised his eyebrows amusingly and saw her going forward without checking her surroundings.

My angel is so naive.

He said to himself mentally and stared at her from behind secretly.

Ragini touched the main door and wondered if it was locked or...

It was slightly opened.

Vidyut tilted his head to the side when she opened the big door before stepping out.

Ragini's heart skipped a beat and a ray of hope touched her as she thought she still had a chance to leave.

She fastened her step only to stop on her track after going just 20 feet forward. There are so many guards standing.

She got startled when they raised their guns, finding her some intruder but a minute later, one of the guards ordered others to lower their gun when he was done talking to someone via call.

Now how do I escape them?- Ragini wondered and her heart sank deeper when her effort went in vain, once again.

She was standing there, without thinking or doing anything. If she goes inside right now she might fail to come out of that room again.

But what is she supposed to do? Escaping these muscular guards seems difficult.

Instead of coming out of the swamp, she is sinking deeper into it. Well, what can she expect from that gangster?

All of a sudden, she heard a barking sound that sent shivers down to her spine.

Dogs!

Her worst nightmares.

She is afraid of this creature.

Her eyes widened and body quivered seeing 3 dogs, in front of her, 5 feet away from her. They seem like Indian street dogs but dangerous. They are looking angry while barking at her.

She took a step back and their bark got louder. Even the guards weren't able to do anything. They are not listening to them.

She fisted her hand out of nervousness and gulped.

" Hey bhagwan! Meri jaan hi le lo aap."

( Oh God! Take my life already.)

She muttered fearfully when one of the dog moved forward to her.

" Mummyy!!"

She literally screamed and walked backward only to collide with someone. Vidyut, with his hands stuffed in his pants pocket, looks at his dogs who are still barking at Ragini, thinking of her as some threat to him.

Ragini hurriedly stepped aside and got even more scared seeing him.

Vidyut walked to his dogs and they threw themselves in his arms as he sat on his knees and spread his arms. They wiggle their tails out of happiness and licked his face and hands.

" Shh! Calm down hmm."

Vidyut patted them. Ragini failed to hear him. She is feeling less scared of dogs now. She furrowed her eyebrows when he mumbled something to those dogs.

" She is my Angel, hmm. Don't bark at her again."

He patted them while mumbling something to them. They barked twice before sitting in their place, all calm now.

Ragini looked amused by their understanding toward him. Vidyut stood up and turned to Ragini. He crossed his hands behind his back.

" So? Escaping again?"

Ragini caught his small smile. She hates it when he enjoys her defeat.

" No. Khuli hawa mein saans le rahe the. Dum ghut raha tha na us kamre mein hamara."

( I was breathing in the open air because that room felt suffocating.)

She crossed her hands around chest, after uttering the above sentence sarcastically only to regret the very second when Vidyut walked closer to her without saying a word.

She moved her hands down and walked backward until she felt her back hitting against a pillar. She gulped, felt her breath turning a little heavy seeing him standing so close to her.

He looked into her eyes intensely before taking one more step forward, ending the little distance between them.

She felt scared to look at his face, yet an unknown urge forced her to keep staring at his face. She is sure that he can read her expressions right now.

He knows she is getting nervous but he chose not to step back, at least not now.

He put his hand above her head on a pillar. His head tilted to a side slightly to get a better view of her face. Her hands fisted behind her back, in a way to calm herself.

Corner of his lips curved into a small smirk as he parted his mouth to speak.
